THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

GEOFFREY S BROWN - CHAIRMAN

The company's achievements and sense of values are personified by Geoff who formed the company from scratch in 1970 and moulded it into the innovative, technically advanced yet community based success it is today. Having left school at 15 with no qualifications he worked as a joiner before setting up on his own. Having started out with no capital he now has an impressive portfolio of business and sporting assets.

STEVEN BROWN - MANAGING DIRECTOR

A time served Electrician in 1984 who worked for a local firm until 1986. At this point he formed his own Electrical Contracting Company, Steve Brown, Electrical, which is still trading. He joined G S Brown Construction in 1998 as a Director and at that time he was responsible for house construction, entry dates and maintenancefs. He was appointed Managing Director in 2001 dealing with all aspects of the Company and its commercial properties.

CHARLES B BROWN - PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

Has an architectural background. Earlier in his career he spent a period of time with G S Brown before taking charge of the drawing office at Avonside Homes in Cumbernauld. He then became Director of Gesby Homes in 1986 before returning to G S Brown Construction in 1992 where he became a Director the following year. His responsibilities include the manufacture of Timber Frame Kits.

ANDREW H SMITH - PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Andrew is a Chartered Civil Engineer who started his career with Tarmac Construction before joining G S Brown in 1976. He worked with various subsidiary companies for a number of years until 1992 when he returned to G S Brown's head office and became a Director the following year. He is also a board member with Homes for Scotland. His main responsibility is land acquisition for the Company.

GARY ROBB - PROJECT DIRECTOR

After leaving school Gary started his career as a trainee with Christie & partners chartered quantity surveyors. He then joined G S Brown Construction in 1996 to become the company’s quantity surveyor and was promoted to the position of Projects Director in September 2007. His main responsibilities, at present, are our Housing association contracts.
